The local Yes2Kollege Minority Health Professions Mentor Program (MHPMP) Summer Job Shadow Opportunities will return for a ninth year, aimed at providing opportunities for African American students and parents.

The program will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizers will utilize available technology to present the job shadows virtually.

Applications are due by July 5, 2022.ย  Acceptance is on a first come, first served basis. Sign up now to reserve a space.ย The event will begin July 11.

African American health professional mentors will bring one-hour presentations with allotted time for questions/answers. Each mentor will share his/her life, education and career story, with the hopes of inspiring participants to follow in their footsteps, while offering support and guidance.ย

Each student who participates will receive a $100 Amazon gift card upon participating in eight job shadow opportunities and completing a survey of questions following each shadow.

โ€œThis is a great opportunity for any youth interested in learning more about health professions and the possibilities for building early relationships with African American professionals who look like you,โ€ shared Yes2Kollege founder, Sharon Chandler.ย
