(WIB) – The Harriet Tubman Transportation & Beyond non-profit transportation company is offering students, organizations, and church groups rides during the coming school year.

โ€œWeโ€™re creating a safe, community-rooted alternative for transporting our most precious cargo โ€” our children,โ€ says Bill Monroe, CEO and founder.

โ€œPublic transit, ride shares, and other private services are not designed with students in mind. Itโ€™s time for a solution that puts our children first.โ€

Monroe, a veteran and former police officer, said the initiative โ€œis more than just a bus service.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s a movement toward safety, self-determination, and empowerment for children and families.โ€

Harriet Tubman Transportation & Beyond will have a fully licensed, insured, air-conditioned, GPS-connected 13-passenger minibus, serving schools, churches, and youth organizations across St. Louis city and county.

Parents can track the bus location in real-time through a secure mobile app.

โ€œEach route is managed by trained, compassionate staff who know and care about the communities they serve,โ€ according to Monroe.

Applications for bus drivers and bus aides are being accepted. The jobs pay $25 and $15 an hour, respectively.

โ€œOur drivers arenโ€™t just employees โ€” theyโ€™re protectors, mentors, and neighbors,โ€ Monroe said.

โ€œWeโ€™re looking for people who want to be part of something bigger: restoring trust, safety, and pride in our neighborhoods.

โ€œHarriet Tubman never lost a single passenger. Thatโ€™s the spirit weโ€™re embracing โ€” ensuring every child makes it to school and back home safely.โ€
