  1. John Burris Documentary Screening 5 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the California Museum. Want to learn more about John Burrisโ€™ efforts to hold police around the country accountable? Join California Secretary of State Dr. Shirley N. Weber and the California Legislative Black Caucus for an exclusive screening and discussion of the John Burris documentary. This 90-minute film explores the extraordinary career of civil rights attorney John Burris, who has spent more than four decades challenging police misconduct and fighting for justice. His landmark work includes the Rodney King trial, the Oscar Grant shooting and more than 1,000 other civil rights cases. Free, attendees must register, as space is limited.
  2. Theater Plaza Tuesday – Musician CJ Washington 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Theater Plaza, El Dorado Hills Town Center, 4370 Town Center Blvd., Suite 300. CJ Washington brings his soulful tunes to the plaza. Enjoy live music, delicious small bites and a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of our community.

CLBSA: JUNETEENTH GALA 7-10 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Elks Tower, 921 11th St. The California Legislative Black Staff Association cordially invites you to a Juneteenth celebration of scholarship, elegance and legacy. All funds raised will directly go to the associationโ€™s internship program to help in its crucial work of recruiting, retaining and providing professional development opportunities for young Black staff. Tickets from $25.
  4. Juneteenth Art Walk 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, June 19, starting at Celebration Arts. B Street Theatre, Celebration Arts, BTU Arts and Capital Stage are thrilled to announce a partnership for an incredible Juneteenth event. Celebrate freedom, art and community with a vibrant, music-filled parade through Midtown Sacramento. Free, attendees must RSVP.
  5. 2025 California State Capitol Juneteenth 11:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at the Capitol, West Steps. Experience music, food, career opportunities, resource booths and Juneteenth spoken word, in a very festive holiday spirit. Free and open to the public.
  6. Say It Loud – LIVE COMEDY 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club. Hosted by Javon Whitlock, see performances from Eric Bowens, Red Tha Truth, Leon Gibson, Starla Heinz and MJC. Tickets are $24.
  7. 3rd Friday Reggae with Pato Banton, The Goodies & Stay Positive Sound 6-10 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Swabbies Restaurant and Bar. Pato Bantonโ€™s four-decade public presence has increasingly transcended music to convey a positive and uplifting message of global peace and love for humanity. Tickets are $21.
  8. Gospel Under the Stars 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 20, at William Land Park. Donโ€™t miss an unforgettable evening of praise and inspiration featuring some of the best gospel artists from Sacramento and the Bay Area. This yearโ€™s concert includes the Juneteenth โ€œRaise the Praiseโ€ event featuring multiple choirs; the audience will determine the best choir. This special event is produced in collaboration with ISound and James Jackson. Free and open to the public.
  9. Mo Hill – Live Comedy 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 20-21, at Laughs Unlimited Comedy Club. Mo Hillโ€™s quick wit, infectious energy and relatable humor have captivated audiences in every corner of the country. Tickets are $29.
  10. Trey Songz with Jeremih 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Thunder Valley Casino, Lincoln. Experience a night of live music with two R&B legends. Tickets from $54.
  11. Juneteenth Freedom Run/Walk 8-11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, at William Land Park. Honoring June 19, 1865, the date federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to ensure all enslaved people were freed. This fun event is a great way to socialize, get some exercise, enjoy the outdoors and learn about the history of Juneteenth. Free, attendees must register.
  12. Sacramento Juneteenth Southern Soul Festival 2025 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at William Land Park. Come out for a day of performances, history and culture, contests, fashion shows, a baseball skills camp, health and wellness booths, food and merchant vendors and live entertainment. Free and open to the public.
  13. Ball For Books – Royal Court Tournament 2-10 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Roosevelt Park. This an opportunity for the community to increase its investment in Sacramentoโ€™s education programs while enjoying a fun-filled day of sports and entertainment. The theme for this inaugural event is โ€œCommunity and Collaboration.โ€ This yearโ€™s tournament seeks to show attendees the importance of community and collaboration while integrating a sports component through our 3v3 streetball tournament that complements our efforts in literacy, education and life skills. Tickets from $7.
  14. Kalimba: Spirit of Earth, Wind & Fire 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, at Swabbies Restaurant and Bar. This nationally touring show provides an Earth Wind & Fire experience so satisfying it transports audiences back to the excitement of the first time they heard these unforgettable songs.   15. Juneteenth Southern Soul After-Party 8 p.m.-midnight Saturday, June 21, at Mandarins Event Center. Featuring live performances by Atlantaโ€™s DeKatur Black and LaJoyce the Voice. Tickets are $60.
  16. The Party Called ยฐFEVERS 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Estherโ€™s Park. A summertime jam built for those who feel the music. A proper night of classic house, Afrobeat, disco, deep cuts and soul. Expect an atmosphere charged with rhythm and movement featuring DJ Rock Bottom, Jethro, modaymoday and Abs. Each brings their signature style โ€“ selecting across genres, taking risks and letting the music speak. Tickets from $20.
  17. Sundayโ€™s Best: Faith, Justice, Mercy & Health Peace Walk 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 22, at Capitol Park. Join us for a meaningful peace walk focused on faith, justice, mercy, and health.
